SEARCY – The Harding softball team swept Southwestern Oklahoma Saturday in a Great American Conference doubleheader. The Lady Bisons won 7-1 and came from behind to win game two 6-4.

The Lady Bisons have now won nine straight games.

Harding improves to 17-9 overall and 9-4 in the GAC.

Southwestern Oklahoma falls to 9-15 overall and 6-7 in the GAC.

GAME ONE (Harding 7, Southwestern Okla. 1)

Riley Price picked up her 11th victory of the season as she improves to 11-6. She went six innings gave up one earned run and struck out three. Sarah Philips came in out of the pen and threw one shutout inning.

Jordan Cabana led Harding going 4-for-4 with two RBI's. Macy Ham, Chelsea Blankenship and Emma Curry all had two hits in the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Harding got the scoring started in the bottom of the first scoring two runs on three hits. Jordan Cabana and Emma Curry each singled in a run.

The Lady Bisons made it 3-0 in the fourth on an RBI single by Madison Fraley.

Southwestern Oklahoma scored its lone run in the fifth when Rebeca Fajardo hit a solo home run to left.

Harding added another insurance run in the fifth on a pinch-hit RBI single by Brooke Johnson.

The Lady Bisons took a 7-1 lead in the sixth scoring three runs on four hits. Mariana Caro doubled in two runs and Jordan Cabana hit a single up the middle for the third run.

GAME NOTES

-          Harding outhit Southwestern Oklahoma 13-4.

-          The Lady Bisons left seven runners on base.

-          Courtney Hill received the loss for the Bulldogs and falls to 2-5 on the season. She went five innings and gave up five earned runs.

GAME TWO (Harding 6, Southwestern Oklahoma 4)

Abby Burch started and got the win for Harding. She improves to 6-3 on the season. She gave up three earned runs and had three strikeouts. Riley Price came out of the pen and picked up the save. She threw 1 1/3 innings and didn't give up a hit.

Jordan Cabana went 3-for-4 to lead the Lady Bisons at the plate. Macy Ham and Emma Curry each went 2-for-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Southwestern Oklahoma got on the board in the top of the first scoring two runs on three hits.

Harding got a run back in the third on an RBI single by Jordan Cabana.

The Bulldogs extended their lead to 3-1 in the fourth scoring a run on a fielding error.

The Lady Bisons took the lead in the fifth scoring four runs on six hits. Emma Curry knocked in two runs for Harding and Tori Turner and Tedi Nunn each singled in a run.

Southwestern Oklahoma got a run back in the sixth on an RBI double by Chesnie Hewitt.

Harding made it 6-4 in the sixth when Chelsea Blankenship reached on a fielding error that scored Macy Ham.

GAME NOTES

-          Harding outhit Southwestern Oklahoma 14-8.

-          Harding left nine runners on base.

-          Blaire Gentry received the loss and falls to 6-8 on the season for Southwestern Oklahoma.
