Harding Wins 92-84 Shootout at Henderson State for 24th Win

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Maddi Holt, Josie Williams and Aubrey Isbell combined to score 13 straight points for Harding during a key stretch of the third quarter and the Lady Bisons held off Henderson State in the fourth to win 92-84 on Saturday in Great American Conference women's action at the Duke Wells Center.

Harding had its highest scoring output of the season and improved to 24-4 overall and 19-3 in the GAC. It is only the fifth time in program history that Harding has won 24 or more games in a season. Combined with last season's win over Henderson State in Arkadelphia, it was the first back-to-back road wins over the Reddies since 2013 and 2014.

Harding is the No. 2 seed in the upcoming GAC Tournament and will play No. 7 seed Ouachita Baptist on Thursday at 2:15 p.m.

Harding trailed 51-47 after a Henderson State bucket with 7:40 left. The Lady Bisons answered with a 3-pointer from Holt that kickstarted a 13-2 run. Holt added a layup, Williams hit two free throws, and Isbell made two layups and two free throws during the stretch that put Harding ahead 60-53 with 2:42 left in the quarter.

Another late push in the third period gave Harding a 68-58 lead after three quarters.

A Williams 3-pointer early in the fourth quarter gave Harding a 14-point advantage, but Henderson State whittled away at the lead and pulled within one point at 77-76 with 4:15 remaining.
Williams then scored six straight points, and Harding made five free throws down the stretch to pull away.

Aubrey Isbell led Harding with 20 points, her second straight 20-point game and fourth of the season.

Williams scored 19 points and added a career-high 11 rebounds for her first career double-double. Holt made two of Harding's five 3-pointers and scored a season-high 18 points. Hawley had 16 points and 16 rebounds for her 13th double-double of the season.

Rory Geer had 10 points and eight rebounds, including six offensive rebounds to tie Heather Lawrence (2002-03) for the Harding record with 112 for the season.
