SEARCY – The Harding softball team got the series win Monday after defeating East Central 2-0 in Great American Conference action. The two teams split the doubleheader Sunday.
Harding improves to 31-14 overall and 21-9 in the GAC.
East Central falls to 19-26 overall and 10-20 in the GAC.
Riley Price got the start for Harding and threw her fifth complete game of the season. It was also her fourth shutout of the season. She only gave up three hits, and struck out five. Price didn't allow a run in both starts against East Central.
Tedi Nunn led Harding at the plate going 2-for-2 with an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After 5 ½ scoreless innings, Harding plated two runs on two hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the bases loaded and one out, Kate Pierce had a pinch-hit sacrifice fly to left that scored the first run for Harding. With runners at first and second, Tedi Nunn hit a single to left center that scored Chelsea Blankenship.
GAME NOTES
- Harding outhit East Central 4-3.
- The Lady Bisons only had 19 at bats in the game.
- East Central starter Lauren HerrNeckar received the loss and falls to 5-8 on the season. She went 5 1/3 innings and walked five.

Harding will travel to Cleveland, Mississippi Tuesday to play its final non-conference games of the season against Delta State. First pitch in the doubleheader is scheduled for 2 p.m.
