Syrotchen Places 14th at USA Track and Field Olympic Trials

Update - Josh Syrotchen placed 14th in the discus Thursday at the U.S. Olympic Trials. His best throw was 59.10 meters. The top three finishers who had already reached the Olympic standard will represent the US in Paris.

SEARCY - Former Harding All-American discus thrower Josh Syrotchen will be in competition Thursday at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Eugene, Oregon.

The discus competition begins at 8:45 p.m. Central Time and will air on Peacock. Syrotchen is in Flight 1, with 24 competitors in two flights of 12 each.

Syrotchen earned First Team All-America in the discus at Harding in 2016 and 2017 and holds the school record with a throw of 60.56m or 198 feet, 8 inches. His career-best throw is 66.21 meters, and the Olympic standard is 67.20 meters.
