Harding's Clark Named GAC Female Scholar Athlete of the Year

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – On Wednesday, the Great American Conference named Harding's Anna Kay Clark as its 2023-24 Female Scholar Athlete of the Year.

Clark's recognition gives Harding three GAC Female Scholar Athlete recipients. Former women's basketball standouts Kristen Celsor and Arielle Saunders won in 2013-14 and 2014-15. She becomes the second women's track and field student-athlete recognized as the top scholar athlete. East Central's Abbie Winchester won in 2019-20.

Clark graduated with a degree in information systems with a 3.98 GPA. In graduate school, she owns a perfect 4.00 GPA. She recently became a two-time Academic All-American, landing on the First Team in 2024.

On the track, she qualified for the NCAA National Championships in the javelin for the third time in her career. At the NCAA Championships, she set a school record with a throw of 47.64 meters. She earned First Team All-American honors for the second time in 2021. Clark won the javelin title at the GAC Championships four straight years.
