SEARCY, Ark. – The Harding University women's track and field team now has a clearer picture of the competition they will face at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Pueblo, Colorado, from May 22-24, following the release of the event performance lists. Several Bisons are seeded among the top contenders in their respective events.
Here's a look at how Harding's qualifiers are seeded heading into the national meet (all times are Central Time):
- Kiera Blankinship (Senior), High Jump: Blankinship enters the competition with a seed mark of 1.72 meters, placing her tied for 20th in the field. The women's high jump final is scheduled for Friday, May 23, at 5:45 p.m.
- Tetiana Kharashchuk (Freshman), 400 Meters: Kharashchuk's seed time of 53.27 seconds places her 10th overall in the preliminary round of the women's 400 meters, which will be held on Thursday, May 22, at 6:40 p.m.
- Omolara Ogunmakinju (Junior), 400 Meters: Ogunmakinju's seed time of 52.65 seconds positions her as the sixth fastest entrant in the 400 meters preliminary round, also on Thursday, May 22, at 6:40 p.m.
- Lisa Retailleau (Junior), 400 Meter Hurdles: Retailleau's seed time of 58.93 seconds places her sixth in the preliminary round of the women's 400-meter hurdles, scheduled for Thursday, May 22, at 8:40 p.m.
- Hanna Onufriieva (Sophomore), Triple Jump: Onufriieva enters the triple jump competition with a seed mark of 12.59 meters, placing her eighth in the field. The women's triple jump final is on Saturday, May 24, at 6:30 p.m.
- Karyna Vehner (Junior), Triple Jump: Vehner will join Onufriieva in the triple jump, entering with a seed mark of 12.49 meters, placing her 12th overall. The final is on Saturday, May 24, at 6:30 p.m.
- Cadence Sansom (Junior), Pole Vault: Sansom's seed height of 3.96 meters places her tied for 17th in the women's pole vault competition, which will take place on Saturday, May 24, at noon.
- Women's 4x400 Meter Relay: The Harding quartet of Omolara Ogunmakinju, Leila Ngapout, Lisa Retailleau, and Tetiana Kharashchuk enters the national meet with a seed time of 3:39.87, placing them 15th in the preliminary round. Their race is scheduled for Friday, May 23, at 8:50 p.m.
