DENTON, Texas — The Harding women's soccer team suffered a tough 1-0 loss at Texas Woman's on Wednesday, despite outshooting the Pioneers 9-8.
Giselle Gutierrez scored the game's lone goal in the 85th minute, assisted by Mia Thaxton, to seal the victory for Texas Woman's.
Harding goalkeeper Maysa Willis made four saves for Lady Bisons.
The Lady Bisons (1-3-0) had several scoring opportunities, including three shots on goal by Kelli Tindel, but were unable to find the back of the net.
Skylar Henley added two shots on goal for Harding, while Campbell Cox and Veagan Jones also recorded shots on target.
Texas Woman's goalkeeper Amanda Farris made five saves to earn the shutout.
The Lady Bisons will look to bounce back Saturday when they host UT Tyler at 11 a.m., at the Stevens Soccer Complex.
