Harding Drops Nonconference Matchup at UT Tyler, 4-1

TYLER, Texas — The Harding University men's soccer team remained winless on the season, dropping a 4-1 nonconference decision to UT Tyler on Saturday.

The Bisons fell behind early, allowing two goals within the first 11 minutes. Luan Rangel scored in the 8th minute, followed by William Kenne's goal in the 11th minute.

Harding momentarily trimmed the deficit to 2-1 when UT Tyler scored an own goal in the 14th minute. However, the Bisons couldn't sustain the momentum, surrendering two more goals before halftime. Niko Vasileiou scored in the 20th minute, and Omar Belahna added another in the 26th minute.

UT Tyler led the shot count 23-7 and held a 7-1 advantage in corners. Lesego Maloma had three of the Bisons' seven shots. Elliott Bracy had the lone shot on goal. Harding goalkeeper Inigo Chavarria made seven saves, while UT Tyler's two goalkeepers had one.

The loss drops Harding to 0-3-2 on the season, while UT Tyler, a member of the Lone Star Conference, improved to 2-2-1.

The Bisons will look to win for the first time on Thursday, Sept. 26, when they travel to Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to face Northeastern State.
