Harding Women's Soccer Falls 3-1 to Union in Season Opener

SEARCY - In the 2024 season opener, Harding freshman Kloey Fullerton made an immediate impact, scoring just 92 seconds into her collegiate career. However, the Lady Bisons ultimately fell 3-1 to Union (TN) on Thursday.

Fullerton's goal came courtesy of a feed from Regan Thompson at the top of the box, which she deftly floated over the goalkeeper for Harding's first goal of the season.

Union, a member of the Gulf South Conference, responded swiftly, equalizing in the 12th minute and adding two more goals in the second half, scored in the 63rd and 71st minutes.

Despite the loss, Harding showed promise, with seven shots throughout the game. Fullerton, Campbell Cox, and Sami Berry each contributed two shots.

In goal, Maysa Willis made her seventh career start, making six crucial saves.

Looking ahead, Harding faces two consecutive road games, starting with Northeastern State in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, on September 8, followed by Christian Brothers in Memphis, Tennessee, on September 12. The Lady Bisons return home on September 14, hosting Rogers State.
