JACKSON, Tenn. – The Harding volleyball team fell to No. 6 ranked Missouri-St. Louis 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-19) Saturday and then swept host team Union 3-0 (25-16, 26-24, 25-18) on the final day of the Union Volleyball Classic.

Harding moves to 2-2 on the season.

Missouri-St. Louis improves to 3-0 on the season and Union falls to 0-4.

MISSOURI-ST. LOUIS MATCH

FIRST SET

Harding jumped out to a 19-10 lead in the first set before Missouri-St. Louis came back and took a 23-21 lead on a 13-2 run. After a Harding point, Missouri-St. Louis won the next two to win the set 25-22. Harding had 11 kills in the set and forced 11 attack errors.

SECOND SET

The second set stayed close throughout. Tied at 22, Missouri-St. Louis won the next three points to win the set 25-22. Missouri-St. Louis had 13 kills in the set.

THIRD SET

Much like the second set, the third set stayed close. Tied at 17, Missouri-St. Louis went on a 7-1 run on six kills to lead 24-18. After a Harding point, Missouri-St. Louis won the set and match on a kill, 25-19. Missouri-St. Louis had 17 kills and hit .333 in the set.

Harding

-          Harding had 37 kills, 17 attack errors and hit .154 in the match.

-          Skyler McKinnon led Harding with 17 kills.

-          Tatum Fouche and Maegan Lacy each had 11 digs to lead the defense.

Missouri-St. Louis

-          Iyannah Jackson led Missouri-St. Louis with 12 kills and only one attack error. She hit .524 in the match.

-          Skylar Weaver led the defense with 21 digs.

UNION MATCH

FIRST SET

Harding jumped out to a 18-10 lead in the first set. Union fought back to pull within three, 19-16 but the Lady Bisons went on a 6-0 run on five kills to win the set 25-16. Harding held Union to only eight kills in the set.

SECOND SET

Trailing 13-10 in the second set, Union went on an 8-1 run to lead 18-14. Harding answered back with a 7-1 run to lead 21-19. Trailing 24-23, Harding won the next three points to win the set 26-24. Harding had 15 kills in the set.

THIRD SET

Union jumped out to an 8-4 lead in the third set before Harding went on a 6-1 run on four kills to lead 10-9. The Lady Bisons didn't give up the lead the rest the way as they won the set 25-18. Harding had 15 kills in the set and hit .300.

-          Harding had 45 kills, 13 attack errors and hit .246 in the match.

-          Maegan Lacy captured a double-double with 12 kills and 12 digs.

-          Skyler McKinnon led Harding with 13 kills.

-          Tatum Fouche lead the defense with 14 digs.

Union

-          Union had 33 kills, 17 attack errors and hit .139 in the match.

-          Marie Torosian and Reese Owens led the offense with eight kills.

-          Reese Owens also led the defense with 16 digs.

UP NEXT

Harding will be back in action next weekend when it travels to Huntsville, Alabama to take part in the Alabama-Huntsville Classic. The Lady Bisons will open the tournament against Tusculum Thursday at 6 p.m.
