Harding Women's Basketball Holds Off Southern Nazarene, Remains Undefeated in GAC

SEARCY — The Harding Lady Bisons sank 21 of 23 free throws, including 5 of 6 in the final minutes, to secure a 67-63 victory over Southern Nazarene in a Great American Conference women's basketball game Thursday at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.

Rory Geer and Aubrey Isbell led the Lady Bisons' offense. Geer made 6 of 6 field goals and 8 of 9 free throws to finish with 20 points. Isbell added 19 points, helping Harding improve to 11-2 overall and 7-0 in conference play. Josie Williams added 11 points and a team-high seven assists.

Southern Nazarene (8-5, 5-2 GAC) jumped out to an 8-0 lead and held a 19-16 advantage after the first quarter. Harding rallied to take a 34-33 halftime lead. The Lady Bisons maintained a slim margin throughout the third quarter, leading 52-48 entering the final period.

In the fourth quarter, Southern Nazarene briefly regained the lead on a 3-pointer with 6:18 remaining. However, Harding's Williams tied the game at 60-60 with a 15-foot jumper. Katelyn Kabrich then gave the Lady Bisons the lead for good with a layup at the 4:13 mark. Harding pulled away by making 5 of 6 free throws in the final minutes.

Harding (11-2, 7-0 GAC) extended its home winning streak to 31 games and its overall winning streak to eight games. The Lady Bisons also improved to 12-0 against Southern Nazarene at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.
