Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Lady Bisons Drop Tough 1-0 Decision to Oklahoma Baptist

SEARCY – Sometimes soccer is a game of inches—and on Wednesday afternoon at Stevens Soccer Complex, Harding found itself on the wrong side of the crossbar.

Despite outshooting Oklahoma Baptist 13-10 and creating steady pressure in the second half, the Lady Bisons couldn't find the equalizer and dropped a 1-0 decision in Great American Conference play.

Oklahoma Baptist (1-5-3, 1-2-0) broke through in the 31st minute when midfielder Lex Williamson buried a shot from the top of the box into the upper-left corner off an assist from Lauren Hanley. It was Williamson's third goal of the season and the only scoring play of the match.

Harding (3-4-1, 1-1-0) fought back with eight second-half shots, including close chances from Kloey Fullerton and Calle Citty, but Oklahoma Baptist goalkeeper Jalen Cramer made five saves to secure the clean sheet.

Harding keeper Maysa Willis finished with two saves while anchoring a back line that limited Oklahoma Baptist to just four second-half shots.

The Lady Bisons generated six corner kicks, including four after halftime, but the final attempt in the 90th minute was cleared off the goalline by the Oklahoma Baptist defense.

Harding will look to bounce back on the road Saturday, Oct. 4, when the Lady Bisons travel to face Southern Nazarene in Bethany, Oklahoma.
