Citty, Berry Lift Harding to Road Win Over Oklahoma Baptist

SHAWNEE, Okla. – Harding's defense bent but didn't break Wednesday night, and the Lady Bisons left Shawnee with another Great American Conference victory. Behind goals from Sami Berry and Calle Citty and a stellar performance in goal from Maysa Willis, Harding edged Oklahoma Baptist 2–1 at the OBU Soccer Complex.

The win moved Harding to 7–5–1 overall and 5–2–0 in GAC play, while Oklahoma Baptist fell to 1–9–4 (1–6–1 GAC). Harding is now in second place in the GAC standings with 15 points, only two points behind leader Southwestern Oklahoma (5-1-2, 17 points).

In a match where the Lady Bisons were outshot 16–9, Willis kept her team ahead with an outstanding 11 saves, including several diving stops that halted late Oklahoma Baptist rallies.

Junior forward Sami Berry broke the scoreless tie in the 42nd minute, taking advantage of a loose ball to score her first goal of the season and send Harding into halftime up 1–0.

Harding extended its lead midway through the second half when defender Calle Citty buried her fourth goal of the season in the 62nd minute, finishing a cross from Kloey Fullerton to make it 2–0.

Oklahoma Baptist made things interesting in the 77th minute, when Tiare Hermosilla scored off a pass from Hali White, cutting the deficit to one. But Harding's defense tightened down the stretch, clearing multiple crosses and denying OKBU's final two corner kicks to seal the win.

Harding returns home Saturday to face Southern Nazarene (5th place, 3-5-0, 9 points) at Stevens Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. in Searcy.
