SKIATOOK, Okla. — Harding men's basketball struggled offensively, shooting 27.4% from the field in an 88-61 loss to the Rogers State Hillcats Saturday at the Central Region Challenge. The defeat drops Harding's record to 0-2 for the 2025-26 season.
Despite the offensive struggles, the Bisons battled fiercely on the glass, outrebounding the Hillcats 42-36, including a strong 20 offensive rebounds that generated 14 second-chance points. The bench provided much of the team's production, accounting for 38 points.
Guard Martez Burse led the team with 13 points and five rebounds, making 7-of-8 free throws. Fellow guard Reggie Webster contributed 11 points and four rebounds. Marko Rangan chipped in 10 points and six rebounds off the bench.
The Bisons struggled to contain Rogers State (1-1), who shot a highly efficient 55.8% (29-52) from the floor. The Hillcats were led by Tim Jordan Jr.'s 17 points and eight rebounds, as they built an early 43-28 halftime lead and controlled the game wire-to-wire.
Harding's next action comes Tuesday in its home opener. The Bisons will host Christian Brothers of the Gulf South Conference on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.
