JOPLIN, Mo. — Harding freshman Vivien Kipkorir earned All-Central Region honors Saturday by leading the Harding women's cross-country team with an eighth-place finish at the NCAA Division II Central Region Championship.
Kipkorir completed the 6-kilometer course at Missouri Southern in 21:14.56 to secure the individual honor, which is awarded to the top 25 finishers.
As a team, Harding finished 16th out of 35 teams with 460 points. Winona State won the team championship with 99 points, followed by Pittsburg State (113) and Nebraska-Kearney (116).
Josie Parks was the second finisher for Harding, placing 62nd in 22:32.03. Harding's other scoring runners included Addison Lyles (107th, 23:08.20), Kaia Bieker (134th, 23:44.62), and Jaclyn Weilnau (153rd, 24:10.54).
Emily McCullough of Fort Hays St. won the individual regional title with a time of 20:32.59.
