SEARCY — The Harding women's basketball team climbed three spots to No. 7 in the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll released Tuesday.
The Lady Bisons (6-0) received 405 points in the poll, continuing their rapid ascent in the national rankings after starting the season at No. 25 and jumping to No. 10 in mid-November. The No. 7 ranking marks the program's highest position since the 2016-17 season, when Harding finished the year ranked No. 4 nationally.
Harding is one of seven unbeaten teams remaining in the top 10. Grand Valley State (6-0) held firmly to the No. 1 spot with all 23 first-place votes, followed by Minnesota State Mankato (7-0) and Fort Hays State (6-0).
The Lady Bisons' move into the top 10 follows a dominant start to the 2025-26 campaign, capped most recently by a 64-49 victory over Delta State on Nov. 29 and a 61-51 win against Central Oklahoma earlier in the week. Junior guard Maddi Holt has been a catalyst for the offense, recently scoring 19 points in the win over Delta State to close out a perfect non-conference slate.
Harding now turns its attention to Great American Conference (GAC) play, which opens Thursday night. The Lady Bisons host Southwestern Oklahoma State at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House, putting their undefeated record and new top-10 ranking on the line against a league rival.
