#19 Midwestern State Edges Harding 4-3 in Tight Tennis Match

Box Score STILLWATER, Okla. — In a tightly contested matchup, #19 Midwestern State men's tennis team narrowly defeated Harding 4-3 on Thursday at the Greenwood Tennis Center.

The Mustangs secured the win with victories in four singles matches, despite the Bisons taking two of the three doubles matches.

Filip Vacula of Midwestern State upset #4 Cas de Ruiter of Harding 6-4, 6-3 in the No. 1 singles match. However, Harding's #27 Adrian Solorzano responded with a 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 win over #16 Bruno Sanchez in the No. 2 singles match.

Cian Mikkelsen of Harding also secured a hard-fought 7-6 (7-4), 3-6, 6-4 win over Germano Setti in the No. 3 singles match. However, Midwestern State took the remaining singles matches, with Jose Marquez, Philip Kamara, and #29 Juan David Duque earning wins.

In doubles action, Harding's #10 Cas de Ruiter and Adrian Solorzano cruised to a 6-1 win over Stephen Slocombe and Filip Vacula in the No. 1 doubles match. The Bisons also took the No. 3 doubles match, with Edoardo D'Arrigo and Caleb Folse defeating Killian Guillou and Justin Van Amerongen 6-3.

With the win, Midwestern State improves to 2-3 on the season, while Harding falls to 2-1. Harding next match is Sunday at 1 p.m. against Cameron in Edmond, Oklahoma.
