HU Men's Indoor Track Jumps to No. 12 in Division II Rankings

SEARCY — The Harding men's indoor track team jumped seven spots to No. 12 in the latest NCAA Division II rankings, released Monday. The Bisons accumulated 64.27 points in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) National TFRI: Track & Field Rating Index.

The men's team is led by standout performances from Vlad Malykhin, who ranks first nationally in the pole vault (5.48m), and Olaolu Olatunde, who ranks sixth nationally in the 60m dash (6.68 seconds) and 29th in the 200m dash (21.53 seconds). Antiwain Jones ranks sixth nationally in the high jump (2.15m), while Anton Kopytko ranks 12th in the long jump (7.48m). Derick St. Jean ranks 19th nationally in the 400m dash (47.74 seconds), and Kelmen Decarvalho ranks eighth in the heptathlon (5,211 points).

The Harding women's team is also making strides, with several athletes posting strong performances in recent meets. The Lady Bisons are currently ranked 61st nationally, with a team total of 8.06 points. Hanna Onofriieva leads the way, ranking ninth nationally in the triple jump (12.14m). Karyna Vehner ranks 27th nationally in the triple jump (11.78m), while Cadence Sansom ranks 28th in the pole vault (3.77m).

Both teams will be in action next on Feb. 14-15 at the Vanderbilt Invitational in Nashville, Tennessee.
