Bisons Secure No. 3 Seed with 76-66 Win Over Henderson State

SEARCY, Ark. — Rylie Marshall scored 27 points, and Harding defeated Henderson State 76-66 on Saturday to secure the No. 3 seed in the Great American Conference Tournament.

Marshall, who was 10-of-13 from the field and 3-of-6 from 3-point range, led the Bisons to their 19th win of the season. Harding improved to 19-9 overall and finished the Great American Conference schedule at 15-7.

Nehikhare Igiehon led Henderson State with 25 points and eight rebounds. The Reddies dropped to 16-12 overall and 12-10 in the GAC.

The game was closely contested, with 13 lead changes and seven ties. Henderson State led by as many as 10 points in the first half, but Harding rallied and trailed only 42-40 at halftime.

In the second half, Harding outscored Henderson State 36-24, shooting 45.2% from the field. The Bisons also outrebounded the Reddies 23-17 in the second half.

Keyln McBride added 10 points and seven assists for Harding, while Stetson Smithson scored 10 points. Wyatt Gilbert came off the bench to score 10 points.

Henderson State's Rondae Hill scored 12 points, and Matthew Mayes added 11 points.

Harding, who honored seniors Sam Smith, Stetson Smithson, Wyatt Gilbert and Josh Denton for their final home game, will face No. 6 seed Southwestern Oklahoma in the quarterfinals of the GAC Tournament on Friday at 8 p.m. in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
