SEARCY — Logan Lacey hit two home runs and drove in five runs to lead No. 18 Harding to a 7-5 victory over East Central on Saturday.
Lacey's first homer, a three-run shot to left center, gave the Bisons a 5-1 lead in the fifth inning. He added a two-run homer to left field in the seventh, his first career two-homer game.
Chance Resetich also homered for Harding, hitting a two-run shot down the left field line in the second inning. It was Resetich's second home run of the season.
Harding scored all of its runs on home runs. Lacey now leads the team with seven home runs, and his five RBIs matched a career high.
Cooper Newsom added two hits for the Bisons, including his fourth double of the season.
Austin Jobe earned the win in relief, pitching 4 1/3 innings and allowing one earned run on three hits. Jobe improved to 2-1 on the season.
Harding improved to 21-4 overall and 12-3 in the Great American Conference, extending its lead to three games over second place in the conference standings. East Central fell to 3-22 overall and 1-14 in the GAC.
The Bisons will next play a nonconference game at Arkansas-Monticello on Tuesday.
