Harding Men's Track and Field Secures 12 NCAA Provisional Marks Over Weekend

SEARCY - Harding's men's track and field team delivered several standout performances over the weekend, competing in three meets: the WashU Distance Carnival, the Bobcat Invitational, and the 97th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.

At the WashU Distance Carnival, Luke Walling, a senior, achieved an NCAA provisional-qualifying time in the 10,000 meters, finishing 13th with a time of 29:51.30.

The Bisons also traveled to San Marcos, Texas, for the Bobcat Invitational, where they secured four NCAA provisional-qualifying marks. Olaolu Olatunde, a sophomore, achieved a provisional-qualifying time in the 100-meter dash, finishing fourth with a time of 10.31 seconds. Everett Mumme and Kylor Aguilar, both pole vaulters, cleared the NCAA provisional-qualifying height of 5.00 meters (16 feet 4.75 inches). Anton Kopytko, a junior, achieved a provisional-qualifying mark in the long jump, finishing third with a leap of 7.51 meters (24 feet 7.75 inches).

At the Texas Relays, Harding secured seven NCAA provisional-qualifying marks. Olatunde achieved a provisional-qualifying time in the 100-meter dash, finishing third with a time of 10.35 seconds. He also ran the anchor leg for Harding's 4x100-meter relay team, which secured a provisional-qualifying time with a finish of 16th and a time of 40.54 seconds.

Vlad Malykhin, a junior, cleared the NCAA provisional-qualifying height in the pole vault, finishing seventh with a mark of 5.25 meters (17 feet 2.75 inches).

Yves Bilong, a junior, achieved a provisional-qualifying mark in the triple jump, finishing fifth with a leap of 14.93 meters (48 feet 11.75 inches).

Lukas Stiper and Spencer Helms, both seniors, secured provisional-qualifying marks in the discus throw, finishing third and fourth, respectively. Stiper achieved a mark of 51.52 meters (169 feet), while Helms recorded a mark of 51.42 meters (168 feet 8 inches).

Casen Hammitt, a junior, broke his own school record in the javelin throw, achieving a provisional-qualifying mark of 66.21 meters (217 feet 3 inches).

Other notable performances for Harding over the weekend included:
  • Noah Haileab, who placed 88th in the 5,000 meters at the WashU Distance Carnival with a time of 15:14.32.
  • Spencer Helms, who placed 10th in the shot put at the Bobcat Invitational with a mark of 15.22 meters (49 feet 11.25 inches).
  • Donald Nwamere, who finished 26th in the 100-meter dash at the Bobcat Invitational with a time of 10.54 seconds.
  • Daniel Osoba, who finished 20th in the triple jump at the Bobcat Invitational with a mark of 14.05 meters (46 feet 1.25 inches).
  • Harding's 4x200-meter relay team, which finished seventh at the Texas Relays with a time of 1:24.18.
Harding's next competition is scheduled for April 4, when it hosts the Bryan Phillips Invitational.
