Hawley Powers Lady Bisons to GAC Championship Berth

FORT SMITH, Ark. — Sage Hawley scored 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Harding to a 70-57 win over Northwestern Oklahoma in the semifinals of the Great American Conference Tournament on Saturday.

Hawley shot 10 of 15 from the field and made 8 of 11 free throws to pace the Lady Bisons. Maddi Holt added 12 points and Rory Geer had 10 for Harding, which improved to 24-6.

Kira Bass led Northwestern Oklahoma with 23 points, and Carly Craig added 18. The Rangers had their season end at 15-15.

Harding led 34-22 at halftime and took control of the game in the third quarter, outscoring Northwestern Oklahoma 19-16 to take a 53-38 lead into the fourth quarter. The Lady Bisons extended their lead to as many as 17 points in the fourth quarter, with Hawley and Geer combining for 12 points in the period.

The Lady Bisons will face No. 4 seed Southeastern Oklahoma in the tournament final on Sunday at 1 p.m. The championship appearance will be Harding's seventh in the GAC Tournament and first since 2023. The Lady Bisons have won two tournament titles, including one in 2017.

The victory was also a milestone for Harding head coach Tim Kirby, who earned his 400th career win.
