Record Falls, Seven Provisionals for Bisons at Harding Invitational

SEARCY, Ark. — The Harding men's track and field team had a standout performance at the 17-team Harding Invitational on Saturday, with several athletes achieving NCAA provisional marks and event victories.

The highlight of the day came in the 3,000 meters, where Luke Walling broke the school record with a time of 8:27.99, surpassing the previous record of 8:29.49 set by Julius Kosgei in 2006.

In the pole vault, Everett Mumme and Kylor Aguilar both cleared NCAA provisional heights, with Mumme winning the event at 5.08 meters (16 feet, 8 inches) and Aguilar finishing second at 4.95 meters (16 feet, 2.75 inches).

Yves Bilong and Daniel Osoba achieved NCAA provisional marks in the triple jump, finishing first and second with leaps of 15.60 meters (51 feet, 2.25 inches) and 14.13 meters (46 feet, 4.25 inches), respectively.

Spencer Helms and Lukas Stiper both reached NCAA provisional distances in the discus, with Helms winning the event at 55.69 meters (182 feet, 8 inches) and Stiper finishing second at 53.75 meters (176 feet, 4 inches).

Casen Hammitt achieved an NCAA provisional mark in the javelin with a throw of 59.64 meters (195 feet, 8 inches), finishing second in the event.

Hayes Cox won the decathlon with a total of 5,793 points in the Harding Multi, held Thursday and Friday.

The Bisons also claimed several event victories, including:

Samuel Williams in the 200 meters (22.08 seconds)

Emmanuel Ragira, Caledon Ruwende, Savian Bush, and Samuel Williams in the 4x400 relay (3:26.18)

Spencer Helms also in the shot put (15.36 meters)
