Harding's Maddox Long Named GAC and Central Region Pitcher of the Week

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Harding's Maddox Long has been named the Great American Conference Pitcher of the Week for the ninth week of the 2025 season and added NCBWA Central Region Pitcher of the Week.

Long, a graduate student from Morrilton, Arkansas, pitched 7.0 innings against Arkansas-Monticello on Thursday, surrendering just four singles and striking out nine in the 7-1 victory. This marks his third consecutive start without allowing an earned run.

With this performance, Long earned his eighth win of the season and lowered his ERA to a Division II-leading 0.59. He also ranks second in the country with 81 strikeouts.

Harding's Cooper Newsom was also nominated for GAC Player of the Week honors.
