SEARCY — The No. 4-ranked Harding men's track and field team showcased its depth and talent this weekend, competing at three meets across the region.
At the Little Rock Invitational, sophomore Everett Mumme cleared an NCAA provisional qualifying mark in the pole vault, winning the event with a height of 5.00 meters (16 feet, 4.75 inches). Harding dominated the pole vault, with Kylor Aguilar (4.80m) and freshman Niks-Davis Suharevskis (4.65m) finishing third and fourth, respectively.
Freshman Caledon Ruwende won the 400 meters in 47.87 seconds, while senior Samuel Williams finished fourth in 48.06 seconds. Senior Zach Reed placed sixth in the 1500 meters (4:11.74), and junior Kyle Oakes was fifth in the 5,000 meters (15:30.00).
In the field events at Little Rock, junior Daniel Osoba was seventh in the long jump (6.40m) and second in the triple jump (14.46m). Junior Kelmen deCarvalho took second in the discus (49.62m) and ninth in the shot put (15.29m).
At the Rhodes 7-Way Meet in Memphis, junior Donald Nwamere won both the 100 meters (10.86 seconds) and the 200 meters (21.85 seconds). Freshman Dillon Williams won the 800 meters in 1:54.97. Sophomore Kole Crawford won the discus (50.42m) and was third in the shot put (14.56m).
Earlier in the weekend, freshmen Hayes Cox and sophomore Emileano Landers competed in the decathlon at the Carl Kight Multi in Nacogdoches, Texas. Cox was sixth with 5,655 points and Landers seventh with 5,456 points.
