SEARCY, Ark. – Harding freshman right fielder Kade Smith has been named the Great American Conference (GAC) Baseball Player of the Week and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Central Region Hitter of the Week, the league and organization announced Tuesday.
Smith, a Searcy native, reached base 13 times in 19 plate appearances as the Bisons posted a 3-1 record last week. He batted .615 with a 1.538 slugging percentage.
Against Arkansas Tech, Smith had a double and drove in one run. In a series against Oklahoma Baptist, he went 3-for-3 with a two-run home run in the first game and 1-for-3 with a double in the second. He concluded the week with his first career multi-home run game in the series finale.
