HU Blasts Four Homers But Falls to Henderson State in GAC Tournament; Finale Sunday at Noon

SEARCY - Harding's offense blasted four home runs, but Henderson State's relentless attack proved too much, scoring in every inning en route to a 21-5 victory that tied the GAC Tournament championship series 1-1 on Saturday at Jerry Moore Field. The game was called after seven innings due to the NCAA's 10-run rule.

Logan Lacey and Collin Helms connected for back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the first, marking the fourth time this season Harding players have accomplished the feat. Lacey's 16th home run of the season tied the Harding school record set by Adam Darby in 2009. Coulton Doyle's seventh home run of the season was his 39th career home run, leaving him just one shy of becoming the second Bison player with 40 career home runs. Nathan Bowie also homered in the game, his sixth of the season.

The Bisons' four-home run performance marked the first time this season Harding hit four home runs in a home game and the first four-HR game for Harding since Feb. 24, 2024, vs. Oklahoma Baptist.

The series now shifts to its decisive game three, scheduled for Sunday at noon at Jerry Moore Field.
