Harding Track and Field Posts Strong Performances at Arkansas Twilight

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Harding men's track and field team had a productive outing at the Arkansas Twilight, with several athletes posting top performances that could boost their chances of qualifying for the NCAA national meet.

Top Performances:

Olaolu Olatunde: Ran a school-record 10.20 seconds in the 100 meters, moving him to 10th nationally.

Vlad Malykhin: Cleared 5.65m (18' 6.5") in the pole vault, the highest mark in Division II this season.

Casen Hammitt: Threw 63.81m (209' 4") in the javelin. He ranks 16th nationally with a season-best throw of 66.21m (217' 3").

Kenneth Hatley: Threw 59.17m (194' 1") in the javelin at the Wichita State Shocker Open, ranking 23rd in Division II this season.

Caledon Ruwende: Ran a 20.88 200 meters and a 10.42 100 meters, both NCAA DII provisional marks. Ruwende also contributed to Harding's relay wins in the 4x100 and 4x400. He is ranked 27th nationally in the 100 meters and 26th in the 200 meters.

Harding's relays: The 4x100 team of Jaxon Hardy, Caledon Ruwende, Donald Nwamere, and Olaolu Olatunde finished second with a time of 40.32, while the 4x400 team of Samuel Williams, Caledon Ruwende, Emmanuel Ragira, and Derick St Jean won with a time of 3:13.37.

Harding will host the Chick-fil-A Mother's Day Last Chance Meet on Sunday at the Ted and Marcie Lloyd Track and Field Complex, providing athletes with one final opportunity to improve their chances of qualifying for nationals.
