SEARCY, Ark. — The Harding University volleyball program has once again demonstrated its commitment to academic excellence, earning the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2024-25 school year. This marks the 19th time the Lady Bisons have received the prestigious award and their 11th consecutive season achieving the honor.
Beyond the team award, Harding also garnered the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll distinction, placing their program among the top 20% of collegiate volleyball teams in terms of grade point average for their respective division. The Lady Bisons posted an impressive 3.73 team GPA during the academic year.
The academic accolades complement a successful 2024-25 athletic campaign for Harding. Under the leadership of head coach Meredith Fear, the team finished with an overall record of 22-9 and a 13-3 mark in the Great American Conference (GAC), securing a second-place finish in the regular season standings. Their season culminated with an appearance in the GAC Tournament finals.
The AVCA Team Academic Award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale throughout the academic year.
