PINE BLUFF, Ark. — Harding scored four goals in the first half and cruised to a 5-0 shutout victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Monday night at Pumphrey Stadium.
Five different Lady Bisons found the back of the net as Harding (2-1-1) extended its unbeaten streak to three matches.
Harding's five-goal haul was the most since the Lady Bisons shut out Southern Nazarene 9-0 on Oct. 23, 2021.
Katie Jones opened the scoring in the sixth minute, converting a pass from Kate Daniel for her first goal of the season and collegiate career. Less than six minutes later, Harding benefited from an own goal to double the lead. Sophomore forward Kloey Fullerton made it 3-0 in the 29th minute with her first career goal. Sara Daniel added another before halftime, finishing a feed from Skylar Henley in the 41st minute.
Eve Garrett closed out the scoring in the 50th minute with her first goal of the year.
Harding controlled the match from the outset, outshooting the Golden Lions 14-3 and earning six corner kicks to none for UAPB. The Lady Bisons placed 10 of their 14 shots on frame.Senior goalkeeper Lucy Riddle stopped two shots to record her first shutout of the season. UAPB's Makaila Riedel finished with six saves.
Harding will travel to Topeka, Kan. to face Washburn on Friday, Sept. 19. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Yager Stadium.
