BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. — The Harding women's golf team concluded the Central Region Fall Preview in sixth place out of 18 teams on Wednesday at the Adams Pointe Golf Club. The Lady Bisons posted a final two-day score of 609, marking the 10th-best 36-hole score in program history.
Harding's team score of 306 in the first round was followed by an improved 303 in the second round, finishing 18 and 15 over par, respectively. The Lady Bisons placed second among the eight Great American Conference schools in the tournament, finishing just two strokes behind last year's GAC champion, Henderson State.
Cooper Meyer led the notable individual performances, tying her career-best round with an even-par 72 on the second day. It was her second career round of par or better. Meyer finished tied for 27th overall with a two-day score of 154 (+10).
Madeleine Wilson was the top finisher for the Lady Bisons, tying for 16th place with a final score of 150 (+6). Wilson played the par 3s at a tournament-best 1-under par. She was followed closely by Pilar Martinez, who tied for 25th with a 153 (+9). Sydney Kincade tied for 33rd at 155 (+11), and Sidney Gainor finished with a 162 (+18), placing 63rd.
The tournament was won by Central Missouri with a team score of 586 (+10). Lily Nelson of Henderson State was the individual medalist, finishing at four under par with a score of 140. The tournament was played in sunny conditions with temperatures in the 80s. Harding's 609 score was its second best at the Central Region Fall Preview, eclipsed only by a 601 in 2022.
The Lady Bisons will return to action on Sept. 8-9 when they compete in the NSU Classic, hosted by Northeastern State University at the Page Belcher Golf Course in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
