Harding Women’s Soccer Blanks East Central, 1-0, in GAC Opener

SEARCY, Ark. — Kloey Fullerton netted the game's only goal early in the second half, and the Harding women's soccer team dominated possession in defeating East Central, 1-0, on Saturday at Stevens Soccer Complex.

The victory moves the Lady Bisons' record to 3-3-1 overall and opens their Great American Conference schedule with a perfect 1-0-0 mark. East Central remains winless at 0-7-1 overall and 0-1-1 in league play.

After a scoreless first half that saw Harding outshoot East Central 9-2, the Lady Bisons wasted little time finding the breakthrough after the intermission.

In the 50th minute (49:04), freshman midfielder Mykala Ulrich played the ball to Fullerton, who unleashed a left-footed shot from the top of the box that sailed over the East Central goalkeeper for the score. It was Fullerton's second goal of the season, and the first assist for Ulrich.

The Lady Bisons' offensive pressure was impressive throughout the contest, finishing with a commanding 21-3 advantage in total shots, including a 10-0 edge in shots on goal. Harding also earned nine corner kicks compared to zero for the Tigers.

Meanwhile, Harding goalkeeper Maysa Willis posted a quiet day in the net, facing no shots on target for the duration of the shutout.

Fullerton led the attack with four shots, two of which were on goal, including the winner. Ulrich and forward Berkley Scott each added three shots.

Harding returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 1, hosting Oklahoma Baptist at 3 p.m. at Stevens Soccer Complex.
