SHAWNEE, Okla. — Oklahoma Baptist overcame a halftime deficit with a 45-point second half to defeat Harding 73-67 on Saturday afternoon at the Noble Complex, snapping the Bisons' two-game winning streak.
Harding (10-4, 6-2 GAC) led 36-28 at the break after holding the Great American Conference's top-scoring offense to just 34.4 percent shooting in the first half, including a dismal 1-of-12 from 3-point range. The Bisons controlled the glass early, outrebounding OBU 22-17 in the opening period.
However, the Bison (12-2, 6-2 GAC) found their rhythm in the second half, shooting 52.2 percent from the field and getting to the free-throw line 23 times. Oklahoma Baptist controlled the paint in the final 20 minutes, outrebounding Harding 23-12 after halftime.
Terry Coner Jr. led all scorers with 22 points for OBU, doing much of his damage at the foul line where he went 12-of-14. As a team, Oklahoma Baptist finished 22-of-30 from the stripe, while Harding attempted just 13 free throws, making nine.
Wesley Booker posted his fifth double-double of the season for Harding, finishing with 19 points and 10 rebounds. He shot 6-of-10 from the floor, including 4-of-7 from deep. Keyln McBride added 11 points and four assists, while Thompson Camara chipped in 10 points and four rebounds.
Oklahoma Baptist remained perfect at home, improving to 6-0 at the Noble Complex.
The game featured 40 total fouls, with Harding whistled for 25 compared to 15 for OBU.
Harding returns home Thursday to face Southeastern Oklahoma State at 7:30 p.m.
