Rogers State Tops Harding in Claremore

CLAREMORE, Okla. — Rogers State scored three goals in the opening half and added four more in the second period to hand the Harding men's soccer team a 7-0 Great American Conference defeat Thursday afternoon at Soldier Field.

The Hillcats (6-3-1, 2-2-0 GAC) jumped ahead early, opening the scoring in the fifth minute (4:41) on a goal by Jamie Kennedy off a pass from Conor Mills. Brandon O'Rourke extended the lead in the 15th minute, and Alex Laing made it 3-0 in the 28th minute. Rogers State kept up the pressure after halftime with goals from Tom Dixon (64th minute), Mills (70th minute), Gian Filizzola (77th minute), and Carson Copenhaver (89th minute).

Harding (0-10-0, 0-4-0 GAC) generated five shots on the afternoon, putting two on target. 4th-year forward Reik Barrack and 4th-year midfielder Jimmy Tuyishime forced consecutive saves from RSU goalkeeper Tristan Miller during a 69th-minute push. 2nd-year midfielder Spencer Patterson, 3rd-year defender Dylan Chambers, and 2nd-year midfielder Roman Berry also recorded shot attempts for the Bisons.

  • In Net: 5th-year goalkeeper Andrew Wagenblatt made 10 saves across 70 minutes of action for Harding. 2nd-year keeper Dillon Hart played the final 20 minutes, stopping two shots as the Bisons combined for 12 saves on the day. Miller stopped both shots he faced to earn the shutout for Rogers State.
