RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Harding University senior Jose Manuel Peralta has been named Great American Conference Men's Golfer of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

The honor marks the first GAC men's golfer of the week award for the spring portion of the 2025-26 season.

Peralta, a native of Madrid, Spain, posted three consecutive rounds of 3-under-par 69 to finish third individually at the Houston Classic, held Feb. 9-10 at the Golf Club of Houston's Tournament Course. His consistent scoring helped lead the Bisons to a second-place finish in a field that included six top-50 nationally ranked teams.

The senior led all Division II competitors with 14 birdies across the three-round, 54-hole event. He also topped the 90-player field in par-3 scoring and tied for the best par-5 scoring average at the tournament.

Peralta's three-round total of 207 (9-under par) trailed only tournament champion Bryant Hiskey II of Houston (13-under) and DBU's Samuel Jenkins (11-under). His performance was instrumental in Harding's runner-up showing, which matched the program's best-ever finish at the Houston Classic.

The Bisons posted a team score of 866 (+2), finishing 16 shots behind tournament winner Dallas Baptist. Harding's second-place finish helped the team climb 10 spots to No. 36 in the latest NCAA Division II national rankings.

Peralta currently ranks No. 94 nationally in the individual rankings. He will look to defend his individual title when Harding competes at the Shadow Valley Invitational on March 2-3, hosted by Arkansas-Fort Smith at Shadow Valley Country Club.
