Gobble Tosses One-Hit Gem; Lady Bisons Rack Up 16 Hits in Shutout Win

SEARCY, Ark. – Junior Brooklyn Gobble tossed a one-hit masterpiece and the Harding offense erupted for a season-high 16 hits as the Lady Bisons shut out East Central 4-0 on Saturday afternoon at Lindy Lunceford Ingram Field.

With the victory, Harding (14-12, 9-3 GAC) secured the Great American Conference series win, while East Central fell to 5-21 overall and 3-9 in league play.

Gobble (8-8) was the story of the day in the circle. The right-hander was throwing a no-hitter through 5.2 innings before surrendering a ground-rule double to Kenni Tudor in the sixth—the only hit allowed by the Lady Bisons' starter. Gobble finished with eight strikeouts, which tied a season-high, and issued only one walk in the dominant complete-game performance.

The Lady Bisons' offense wasted no time providing run support, plating three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Tori Turner and Bailey Robinson sparked the rally with back-to-back hits before Zoey Neal cleared the bases with a two-run double to left-center. Lana Danielson added an RBI groundout later in the frame to make it 3-0.

Harding added an insurance run in the sixth when pinch-hitter Cameron Timmons doubled down the right-field line and later scored on an RBI single from Turner.

Turner and Neal led the hit parade for the Lady Bisons, both finishing 3-for-4. Neal also had two RBIs. Robinson, Danielson, and Alexis Boswell each recorded two hits.

Kennedy Schroeder (1-6) took the loss for East Central, exiting in the first inning after facing three batters. Lindsey Mauppin provided 5.1 innings of relief for the Tigers, allowing one run on 11 hits.
