Road Warriors: Harding Rallies for 8-5 Win, Dominates Game Two in Durant

DURANT, Okla. – Harding's offense translated a dominant home stand into a successful road trip Friday, as the Lady Bisons extended their winning streak to eight games by sweeping a doubleheader from Southeastern Oklahoma.

The Lady Bisons (16-12, 11-3 GAC) dictated the pace from the start, taking the opener 8-5 before stifling the Savage Storm 6-1 in the nightcap at the Southeastern Softball Field.

Game 1: Harding 8, Southeastern Okla. 5

In the opener, Harding overcame a pair of home runs and a mid-game deficit with a resilient late-inning surge. Trailing 5-2 in the fifth, the Bisons' lineup went to work, starting with a two-run double by Zoey Neal that scored Tori Turner and Logan Ringel. Lana Danielson then tied the game with an RBI single.

The momentum carried into the sixth inning, where Neal struck again with a two-run single to center, plating Payton Alexander and Ringel to give Harding the lead for good. Ella Friederich added an insurance run with an RBI single to score Bailey Robinson.

Brooklyn Gobble (9-8) earned the win in the circle, settling in after a rocky third inning to retire the final 11 batters she faced. Ringel led Harding at the plate going 3-for-4 with three runs scored, while Neal drove in a game-high four RBIs.

Game 2: Harding 6, Southeastern Okla. 1

While the opener was an offensive showcase, the second game was a clinic in situational hitting and defensive composure.

Harding jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning and never trailed. Lana Danielson sparked the early momentum with an RBI single to score Bailey Robinson, followed immediately by an Alexis Boswell RBI double that brought home Ella Friederich.

The Lady Bisons broke the game open in the sixth. Boswell hammered her second double of the afternoon to drive in Cameron Timmons, and Bailey Willis followed with a sacrifice fly to push the lead to 4-0. The lead grew to six in the seventh after a Friederich sacrifice fly and another RBI base hit from Danielson.

Avery Booker was the story in the circle, keeping the Savage Storm off the board until the bottom of the seventh. Southeastern avoided the shutout when Lorryn Johnson singled in a run with two outs, but Booker induced a game-ending pop up to secure the sweep.

  • Alexis Boswell led the charge in Game 2, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs.
  • Lana Danielson stayed hot with two hits and two RBIs in the second game.
  • Avery Booker earned the win in Game 2, scattering five hits and allowing just one run in a complete-game effort.
  • Bailey Robinson set the table effectively, recording two hits and scoring twice in the second game.

Series Finale

The Lady Bisons will look to complete the three-game series sweep tomorrow. First pitch is set for noon in Durant.
