TULSA, Okla. — The Harding Lady Bisons opened the first round of the 2026 Great American Conference Women's Golf Championships in eighth place Monday, carding a 32-over 316 at the Stone Creek course at Page Belcher Golf Club.
Freshman Vivian Volion led the way for Harding, firing a 6-over 77 to sit in 12th place individually. Volion's round was highlighted by a 2-over 37 on the back nine, keeping the Lady Bisons within striking distance of the middle of the pack.
Arkansas Tech currently leads the 11-team field after posting a 17-over 301. Northwestern Oklahoma State sits in second place at 22-over, while Southwestern Oklahoma State follows in third at 23-over.
Conditions at Stone Creek were warm and humid, with temperatures reaching 84°F under cloudy skies. Gusty south winds at 15 mph provided an additional challenge for the field, contributing to a scoring average of 80.79 for the day.
Senior Madeleine Wilson sits in 24th place after an 8-over 79. Sydney Kincade and Pilar Martinez both carded 9-over 80s and are currently tied for 28th. Cooper Meyer rounded out the Harding lineup with a 10-over 81, placing her in 33rd.
Harding enters the second round just one stroke behind Southern Arkansas and Arkansas-Monticello, who are tied for sixth, and six strokes back of Oklahoma Baptist in fifth.
The second round of the 54-hole championship will continue Tuesday morning.
