RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced its annual sportsmanship awards for the 2025-26 athletic season on Thursday, with Harding University capturing honors in two sports.

The league's head coaches selected the winners using a point system, recognizing programs that represent the NCAA Division II emphasis on character and game environment.

The Harding men's golf team and men's soccer team both earned distinctions for the Bisons. For men's golf, the honor marks the program's seventh sportsmanship award overall and its fourth in the last five years. Meanwhile, the men's soccer team secured the award for the second consecutive season.

"These awards tie into the NCAA Division II emphasis on sportsmanship and game environment," GAC Commissioner Will Prewitt said. "We are proud of these institutions that have displayed success on the scoreboard and in ways that aren't necessarily reflected in wins and losses."

The GAC Sportsmanship Award program was initiated in 2012 by the conference's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Each winning program will receive a championship-style banner to display at their home venue to celebrate their commitment to fair play among teams, fans, and officials.
