Harding Sweeps GAC All-Sports Trophy Awards for Fifth Straight Year

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. — Harding University swept the Great American Conference all-sports awards for the fifth consecutive season, capturing both the 2025-26 Commissioner's Cup and the President's Trophy, the league office announced Tuesday.

The Bisons and Lady Bisons dominant campaign set GAC records for both total points (121) and highest percentage of points won (84.6%). It marks the seventh Commissioner's Cup and fifth President's Trophy in program history.

The victory adds to an elite legacy of athletic excellence for Harding. The university has now won the GAC's top all-sports prize eight times, capturing it in 2017, 2019, and every year from 2021 through 2026. The program's history of multi-sport dominance also includes the 2011 Gulf South Conference men's all-sports trophy, as well as Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference (NAIA) trophies in 1976, 1981, and a four-year run from 1990 to 1993.

Harding fueled its historic 2025-26 year with five conference championships: football, women's soccer, women's basketball, and both men's and women's track and field.

Several of those titles broke long droughts or extended historic streaks. The women's soccer title was the program's first since 2016, while the women's basketball championship was its first since 2020. On the track, the Lady Bisons snapped Oklahoma Baptist's four-year title streak, while the Harding men won their fifth consecutive track and field championship and seventh in the last 10 years. On the gridiron, the football team put together its third undefeated regular season in history, parlaying that momentum into an appearance in the NCAA Division II National Championship game.

The GAC awards the Commissioner's Cup to the institution that totals the most cumulative points across 14 sports, while the President's Trophy goes to the program with the highest percentage of available points based on the sports it sponsors.
