SEARCY, Ark. – The Harding men's basketball team has been recognized for its outstanding performance in the classroom during the 2025-26 academic year, earning the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award.
In addition to the team honor, the NABC announced that eight Bisons have been named to the prestigious NABC Honors Court.
The Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize men's basketball programs across all collegiate divisions that completed the academic year with a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Under head coach Weston Jameson, the Bisons far exceeded that benchmark, compiling a superb 3.25 team GPA.
To earn a spot on the NABC Honors Court, an individual student-athlete must be a junior, senior, or graduate student with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
The eight Bisons named to the 2025-26 NABC Honors Court represent a wide array of demanding academic disciplines:
"College basketball student-athletes do incredible things on the court, but their achievements in the classroom are equally worthy of celebration," NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson said in a statement. "Education is one of the NABC's core values, and the hundreds of programs and thousands of athletes represented on these awards reinforce the commitment to academic success that exists across all levels of our sport."
The academic recognition caps off a monumental year for the Harding men's basketball program. On the hardwood, the Bisons finished the season with a 24-8 record, captured their second consecutive Great American Conference Tournament Championship, and made their eighth all-time appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament.
