SEARCY, Ark. — Addie Worley led a balanced attack with 12 kills as the Harding volleyball team defeated Southwest Baptist 3-1 (25-23, 25-23, 20-25, 25-17) on Thursday night at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.
Harding (9-1) featured three players with double-digit kills. Josie Bishop added 11 kills, while Philomina Klotz and Rauly Eason finished with 10 apiece. Eason led the defense at the net with four blocks (two solo), and Klotz hit .381 on 21 total attacks.
Olivia Wiedower orchestrated the Lady Bisons' offense with 43 assists and recorded a double-double by adding 10 digs. She also contributed three kills on seven errorless attempts (.429) and shared the team lead with three service aces.
Worley also notched a double-double, matching her 12 kills with 12 digs. Mallory Weyand anchored the back row with a match-high 18 digs, five assists, and two service aces.
As a team, Harding collected 10 service aces while limiting Southwest Baptist (7-2) to just three. Maddie Burrough and Melaina Haines each added two aces for the Lady Bisons.
Harding edged Southwest Baptist in tight 25-23 victories in each of the first two sets before the Bearcats took the third set 25-20 behind a .345 hitting performance. The Lady Bisons responded decisively in the fourth set, hitting .462 with 15 kills and only three errors on 26 attacks to seal the 25-17 win.
Southwest Baptist was led by Hanna Klein, who tallied a game-high 16 kills, and Melissa Patel, who collected 17 digs.
Harding continues its home tournament action at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House on Friday evening when the Lady Bisons host Missouri Southern. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
