Harding Remains at No. 2 in National Polls

SEARCY, Ark. — Second-ranked Harding Football maintained its consensus No. 2 national ranking in both the AFCA Division II Coaches Poll and the D2Football.com Top 25 Media Poll released Monday following a 37-14 road victory over Southwestern Oklahoma State.

The selection marks Harding's 93rd consecutive appearance in the AFCA top 25 poll, continuing one of the longest active ranking streaks in NCAA Division II.

In the AFCA poll, the Bisons accumulated 744 total points to hold firm at No. 2, trailing only top-ranked Ferris State (3-0, 775 points). Kutztown (2-0, 705 points), Minnesota State (3-0, 668 points), and CSU Pueblo (3-0, 653 points) rounded out the AFCA top five. Harding remains the sole Great American Conference program ranked in the top 25, while Henderson State received 24 votes.

Harding also retained the No. 2 spot in the D2Football.com Top 25 Media Poll. The top five in the media poll features Ferris State at No. 1, followed by Harding, Minnesota State, Kutztown, and Northwest Missouri State.

No. 2 Harding (2-0, 2-0 GAC) returns home to First Security Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 19, hosting Southern Arkansas. The Bisons put a 25-game home winning streak and a 17-game GAC winning streak on the line against the Muleriders. Kickoff in Searcy is scheduled for 7 p.m.
