LIBERTY, Mo. — A pair of early goals and a lengthy first-half weather delay proved too much to overcome Tuesday night as the Harding men's soccer team fell 2-0 to William Jewell.

William Jewell took quick control of the contest behind forward Daniel Pirillo, who netted two goals in the opening 20 minutes. Pirillo put the Cardinals ahead in the second minute (1:21) before doubling the lead in the 20th minute (19:12).

Severe weather moved into the area shortly after, forcing a long lightning delay during the first period before play could resume. Neither side was able to find the back of the net following the restart, preserving the two-goal margin for the hosts.

Due to the severe weather conditions, live stat tracking and an official game box score were unavailable.

With the setback, Harding drops to 0-5-0 to conclude its non-conference opening stretch.
