ADA, Okla. — Mykala Ulrich notched a two-goal performance as the Harding women's soccer team exploded for four first-half goals in a 4–0 victory over East Central on Wednesday afternoon.
The win marked the Great American Conference opener for both squads, elevating the Lady Bisons to 2–3–1 overall and 1–0–0 in GAC play, while East Central fell to 0–7–0 overall and 0–1–0 in conference action.
Harding delivered a dominant opening 45 minutes, holding a 16–7 shot advantage before the break and converting four times in a 17-minute burst late in the half.
Ulrich put the Lady Bisons on the board in the 26th minute (25:53), Blair Rowlett found Ulrich for her second goal of the season.
Rowlett found Ulrich again in the 39th minute (38:23). Less than two minutes later, Georgie McMahan extended the margin to 3–0 at 39:50, finishing a setup from Julie Johnson for her first career goal.
Brooke Arthur netted the fourth goal just before halftime, burying her first career goal in the 43rd minute (42:18) off an assist from Natalie Gomez.
Harding's attack pressed continuously throughout the afternoon, outshooting the Tigers 29–9 overall (14–5 on goal).
Defensively, goalkeeper Maysa Willis played the opening 61 minutes before giving way to Emerson Simmons. Harding goalkeepers combined for five total saves (three by Willis and two by Simmons) to complete the team's clean sheet.
Harding will be back in action Sept. 23 when it hosts Southern Nazarene at 3 p.m., at the Stevens Soccer Complex.
