THE MATCHUP:
Consensus No. 2-ranked Harding (2-0, 2-0 GAC) hosts Southern Arkansas (1-1, 1-1 GAC) for a Saturday night GAC Family Weekend clash at First Security Stadium in Searcy (Sept. 19, 7:00 p.m.) ... marks Harding's first Saturday kickoff of the 2026 season following back-to-back Thursday night victories.

WEEK 2 RECAP (37-14 AT SWOSU): Harding scored 21 unanswered second-half points to pull away for a 37-14 victory over Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford ... freshman Jeff Regan sparked the second-half surge with a 98-yard kickoff return touchdown, while Andrew Miller anchored the ground attack with 178 rushing yards and two scores on 34 carries ... Kaleb Walker led the defensive front with 5 tackles and 2.0 sacks.

BACK-TO-BACK GAC WEEKLY HONORS: Freshman returner/slotback Jeff Regan was named the GAC Special Teams Player of the Week following Week 2 ... Regan accumulated 231 all-purpose yards (159 KR, 58 rushing, 14 PR) and two TD, highlighted by his 98-yard kickoff return TD—the second-longest kickoff return in Harding history ... Regan's selection gives HU consecutive GAC Special Teams Player of the Week awards after placekicker Dean Roberts earned the honor in Week 1.

MILLER MOVES TO 2ND ALL-TIME: Fifth-year fullback Andrew Miller rushed 34 times for 178 yards and two TD at SWOSU, registering his 16th career 100-yard rushing game ... Miller's 57-yard TD run on the first play of the fourth quarter marked his 53rd career rushing touchdown, moving him past Romo Westbrook into sole possession of second place on Harding's all-time list ... Miller enters Week 3 with 3,880 career rushing yards and 53 touchdowns across 47 games.

HOME DOMINANCE EXTENDED: Harding defends a 25-game home winning streak at First Security Stadium, which ranks as the second-longest active home winning streak in NCAA Division II.

CONFERENCE WINNING STREAK: With the Week 2 victory, Harding extended its Great American Conference winning streak to 17 consecutive games ... it stands as the third-longest active conference winning streak in NCAA Division II, trailing only CSU Pueblo (26 games, RMAC) and UIndy (18 games, GLVC).

ROAD WINNING STREAK: Harding's victory in Weatherford extended its road winning streak to eight games—the third-longest road winning streak in program history ... the Bisons also increased their winning streak in the state of Oklahoma to 12 consecutive road games dating back to 2021.

SERIES HISTORY: 62nd all-time meeting between Harding and Southern Arkansas ... Harding leads the series 33-27-1 and has won six consecutive meetings against SAU.

LAST MEETING (SEPT. 20, 2025): Harding defeated Southern Arkansas 31-12 in Magnolia ... the Bisons rushed for 371 yards while holding SAU to 119 yards on the ground ... Andrew Miller rushed for 140 yards and a touchdown, while the Bison defense forced three turnovers.

ROBERTS PERFECT ON THE YEAR: Freshman placekicker Dean Roberts is 4-for-4 on field goals and 14-for-14 on extra points through two games ... Roberts booted three field goals (32, 45, and a career-long 49-yarder) in the first half at SWOSU, becoming the first Harding kicker since 2008 to convert three field goals in a single half.

NATIONAL RECOGNITION & 93RD CONSECUTIVE POLL: Harding retained the consensus No. 2 ranking in NCAA Division II in both the AFCA Division II Coaches Poll (744 points) and the D2Football.com Top 25 Media Poll ... the selection marks Harding's 93rd consecutive appearance in the AFCA national top 25 poll.

GAC TRACK RECORD: Harding is 91-10 (.901) in Great American Conference play since 2016 and has suffered only one conference loss by more than 10 points since 2015.
