Ray Lynn Woods

At Harding
Ray Lynn Woods is in his 18th season as the Harding men’s basketball assistant. In his previous 17 seasons, Woods has helped lead the Bisons to a 239-238 record, five trips to the Gulf South Conference Tournament, one GSC Tournament Championship, seven Great American Conference Tournament berths, one GAC Tournament Championship and five berths in the NCAA Division II Tournament.

During his time with the team, Harding players have earned three All-America honors, 25 All-Conference honors, three player of the year honors, and 45 Academic All-Conference honors.


Before Harding
Woods spent three seasons as the men’s basketball assistant at Bossier Parish Community College in Bossier City, Louisiana. He also spent two seasons at the University of Texas-Pan American as a basketball strength and conditioning coach. Woods was the head women’s and men’s coach at Crowley’s Ridge Col. in 1998-99. He worked for four seasons as Harding’s student manager as an undergraduate.

Education
Woods received his bachelor’s degree from Harding in kinesiology in 1997 and earned a master’s in education from Union University in 1998.

Family
Woods is a native of Dyersburg, Tenn., and is married to the former Lauren Burkett of Searcy, Ark. The couple have three children—Hudson, Mason and Charleigh Mae.
