At Harding
Dawson Yates is in his fourth season as the Harding assistant women's basketball coach in 2023-24. The Lady Bisons are 51-25 in Yates's first three seasons.
Before Harding
Served as the head boys junior varsity coach at El Dorado High School in El Dorado, Arkansas for three seasons. He was the graduate assistant for the Union University men's basketball program during the 2016-17 season.
Playing Career
Saw action in 22 games for Harding from 2014-16. Had a 3-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio in his career.
Education
Yates received his associates degree from North Arkansas Community College in 2014, his bachelor’s degree from Harding University in 2016 and his master’s in teaching from Southern Arkansas University in 2019.
Family
Yates is a native of Valley Springs, Arkansas, and is married to the former Bethany Engel of Wakefield, Michigan. The couple have one daughter, Lauren, born in November 2022.
