FLORENCE, Ala. – The Harding women's soccer team fell to North Alabama Friday night in Gulf South Conference action 6-0. The Lady Bisons fall to 5-7-1 overall and 2-2 in the GSC.
North Alabama (12-2, 5-0 GSC) had two players score two goals on the night. The Lions didn't take long getting on the board when Nikkie Brown found Jennifer Osmond for a header to the lower left corner of the net to send UNA on-top 1-0.
Less than two minutes later, North Alabama got on the board again when Brown found Jamie Takala for the Lions second goal. Harding tried to rally to tie the match before halftime but Lions goalkeeper made three saves in the closing 14 minutes of the half. The Lions took the 2-0 lead into halftime.
The Lions scored four goals in a span of 20 minutes to seal the victory. Julia Osmond scored in the 46th minute off a free kick, Jennifer Osmond found Takala in the 50th minute for the goal, Brown found Chloe Roberts in the 57th minute for her third assist on the night and Roberts, GSC leading goal scorer, found the back of the net in the 65th minute for her 22nd goal on the season.
North Alabama held Harding to only three shots in the second half.
The Lions took 18 shots, nine were on goal.
The Lady Bisons will be back in action Sunday as they host West Georgia at 1 p.m., in Gulf South Conference action at the Harding Soccer Field.
