Lady Bison Soccer Faces No. 7 West Florida in Opening Round of GSC Tourney

SEARCY – The Harding women's soccer team will take the field on Friday as the No. 4 seed in the Gulf South Conference Tournament in Pensacola, Fla. The Lady Bisons will face hosts and No. 1 seed West Florida at 1:30 p.m.

A coin flip between Christian Brothers and Harding by conference office determined what seed the Lady Bisons had. Both teams tied for third place in the GSC with a 4-2 record.

Harding heads into the conference tournament with an 8-8-1 overall record. The Lady Bisons are currently on a two game winning streak. Harding defeated both Drury and Ouachita Baptist in overtime 1-0.

The Lady Bisons are led by two forwards, junior Paola Eusse and freshman Adriana Lucar, who each have seven goals on the season. Lucar, GSC Freshman of the Year, leads the team in assists with six.

West Florida heads into the tournament with a 16-2-0 overall record and are currently ranked No. 7 in NCAA Division II. The Lady Argonaunts were the regular season GSC Champions with a 7-0 record.

West Florida is led by Shakira Duncan, GSC Player of the Year, who has 27 goals and 10 assists. Jodi-Ann Robinson also has scored double-figure goals with 17. Robinson leads the Lady Argos with 13 assists. West Florida averages 4.44 goals per game, ranking them first in the GSC.
